Grape variety:

100% Chardonnay fermented and matured for one year in 300 litre French oak barrels (40% new oak). Also using whole bunches rather than de-stemming, followed by ‘natural’ fermentation (no yeast added)


Rustenberg has been producing grapes since 1682 and wine since 1892. It was bought in 1941 by Peter and Pamela Barlow bought Rustenberg and is now run by their son Simon

South African whites have perhaps overtaken their reds for quality and consistency. At the mid price range, California and Australia cannot compete with this quality of Chardonnay
