2017 MACON, ‘Aux Bois d’Allier’, Cordier. Burgundy

Bin:  270

Alcohol percentage:  13.5%

Area:

Aux Bois D’Allier is a vineyard near Charnay, one of key villages within the Mâcon region in southern Burgundy.

Grape variety:

100% Chardonnay, matured for a year in large old oak barrels.

Producer:

Domaine Cordier are based in Fuissé in the heart of the Maconnais. Established in 1968 and now run by Christophe Cordier, who runs his own estate but also a négociant business, in total covering around 30 hectares and 8 villages.

Press review:

“A delicious Chardonnay from low-yielding vines in the Bois d’Allier vineyeard near Charnay, that offers real depth and concentration for its price. Maturation in old oak foudres has given a gentle vanilla edge to the rich green apple fruit and nutty tones but not masked the firm acidity and chalky minerality. Long and lasting.” Decanter Magazine
