2014 PINOT GRIS, WillaKenzie. Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA

Bin:  175

Alcohol percentage:  14.2%

Area:

Cool climate Oregon (north of California and south of Washington Estate) is best know for Pinot Noir but does have success with both Chardonnay and Pinot Gris. Sadly the latter is being abandoned as the price achieved for the wines can never match Pinot Noir levels.
This comes from the sub-region of Yamhill-Carlton.

Producer:

Created and run by Bernard and Ronni Lacroute for many years, the estate has been sold in 2017 to the California-based Jackson Family Wines.
The estate is certified as ‘sustainable’ (which does mean something in the U.S.)

Old Bridge rating:

Ripe and quite aromatic. Much more Alsace Pinot Gris than Italian Pinot Grigio – this has character and richness, but without losing freshness
