2011 SAVIGNY-LÈS-BEAUNE, 1er Cru La Dominode, Louis Jadot. Burgundy (Jeroboam)

Bin:  895

Alcohol percentage:  13.5%

Area:

Savigny is generally (and correctly) thought of as one of the lighter styles of red Burgundy. However the vineyards actually lie between Aloxe Corton and Pernand Vergelesses which both produce quite powerful and long-lived wines.
La Dominode is perhaps the best plot within the appellation, a small section within the 1er Cru Les Jarrons; capable of ageing 10-15 years.

Grape variety:

100% Pinot Noir

Producer:

Louis Jadot is a large négociant (merchant) but one you can rely on for quality and, by Burgundy standards, good value.

Old Bridge rating:

Just reaching maturity, this is spicy, complex Burgundy and not expensive for such a magnificent bottle.

£195.00
