Bin:  175

Alcohol percentage:  14%

Area:

Nimes is just to the west of the Rhône Valley and considered by many to be worthy of a Rhône designation than the more humble Languedoc.
Château d’Or et Gueules is in the southern sector of the appellation, between St Gilles and Generac, close to the Camargue. The vineyards are south facing and are filled with the famous galets roulés (large round stones)

Grape variety:

Roussanne (80%), Grenache Blanc (10%), Rolle (10%); the first matured in oak, the others kept in stainless steel to preserve freshness

Producer:

From the estate’s website:
“Château d’Or et de Gueules was born in 1998. The name comes from the family crest of Diane de Puymorin, with its colours reflecting the personality of the wines she produces – gold (‘Or’ in French) to signify the depth and fullness of the southern sun and warmth, red (‘Gueules’ in old French) for the character, power and round.”
