2011 VIN SANTO, Selvapiana. Tuscany, Italy (50cl Bottle)

Bin:  959

Alcohol percentage:  13.5%

Area:

Rufina, just east of Florence, is the smallest and coolest of the Chianti zones, with clay-limestone (‘Albarese’) soils, producing a medium-bodied, fresh styles that normally age beautifully.

Selvapiana is owned and run by Federico Giuntini Masseti – it has been in his family since 1827. The beautiful estate is 245 hectare, of which 60 hectares are vines, and 22 are olive groves. He makes the wines with consultant Franco Bernabei.

Beautiful, honeyed, nutty, savoury, spicy sweet wine. One of the greats in the wine world.
