2013 VIOGNIER, Le Paradou. Vin de Pays D’Oc, South France

Bin:  175

Alcohol percentage:  12.5%

Grape variety:

100% Viognier, fermented in stainless steel and bottled young to retain freshness

Producer:

Made by Château Pesquié who state –
““Paradou” means “Paradise” in the old language of the “langue d’oc”, as it is magical to live in the south of France. Yet, “Paradou” actually refers to the old watermills that once dotted the landscape. It is in homage to these majestic giants, built on the banks of streams since Roman times, that we have created these fresh and pleasing wines”.
They own a ‘Paradou’ in the Languedoc, with surrounding vineyards, although their main estate is in Ventoux

Maturity potential:

Drink young

Old Bridge rating:

An exceptionally good example of Viognier at the price (really not easy to find). Combining delicacy, perfume and freshness
