2010 Now finished: VOSNE-ROMANEE, 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts, Dujac. Burgundy

Bin:  2002

Alcohol percentage:  %

Beaux Monts is a 11.5 hectare vineyard in the extraordinary village of Vosne-Romanée, surrounded directly by other great vineyards like Les Suchots, Aux Brûlées and Flagey-Echézeaux.

Domaine Dujac has been owned and run by Jacques Seysses (pictured left) for over 40 years. His sons Alec and Jeremy, with wife Diana, are now in charge. The domaine’s style has been renowned for including 100% whole clusters in the vat, making for a highly aromatic but pale coloured style. This is today used more flexibly, however, and the wines can in fact (like this one) be fairly deep, intense and very long-lived.

Old Bridge rating:

A great vintage for Dujac, not yet mature.

Press review:

5 bottles left, in original case. Bought from FMV (BBR) en primeur and stored in our cellars since then.
